About the Silver K Café
 |
Johnson Citys Silver K Café
(SKC) proprietor, Kay Pratt met Karen Granitz in the summer of 2000
and discovered that they shared the same passion for food, Texas music,
entertaining, and the dream of one day owning a restaurant in the
Texas Hill Country. Through the support of family, friends, and the
community their vision became reality. During the winter of 2001 the
owners of the Old Lumber Yard collaborated with the SKC, giving the
restaurant a home.
Kay Pratt carries on the vision of serving outstanding
Texas Hill Country Cuisine in a ambiance of rustic elegance, featuring
Texas wines, fine art by local Texas artists and Texas Singer / Songwriters.

About The Old Lumber Yard
Owners of THE OLD LUMBER YARD
(TOLY), Jesse & Sandi Kinman purchased this property in the late 1990s.
At one time it was the old Stein Lumber Company. Their dream of developing
a premiere shopping complex and their belief that Johnson City was in
its youth, helped create their mission of having a unique variety of shops
featuring antiques, collectibles, while offering spaces for entrepreneurs.
They recognized that Johnson City would soon become a strong competitor
with neighboring communities and they wanted to be a part of that history.
Many of the architectural features in TOLY are from the original building,
such as the wood walls, ceilings, windows, and trim. Memorabilia is scattered
throughout the complex, and visitors are invited to tour the grounds and
enjoy shopping seven days a week. |
